Ann Lupton was born on May 16, 1733 in Solbury, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Joseph Lupton and Mary Scarborough. Ann moved to Frederick County, Virginia with her family about 1740. In 1750, Ann signed her brother, Joseph's, marriage certificate at Hopewell Monthly Meeting in Frederick County, Virginia. She married Joseph Thompson in 1773. Joseph was born on March 10, 1728 in Virginia.
Her friends and relatives signed their marriage certificate. The family moved to Newberry, South Carolina with other Frederick County, Virginia Quakers. They were admitted to the Bush River Monthly Meeting in 1776. In 1779, Joseph Thompson and Robert Evans were sent by the Bush River Meeting to ascertain the sincerity of John Coats' apology. Ann died in 1806 in Newberry.
